A note on fees and fit

There is generally no account minimum, but Asset Management Services carry a minimum annual fee. Those are different things. We will discuss services, costs, and fit before you decide whether to work with us.

What happens after you reach out

  1. Tell Ian what is going on

What prompted the outreach, what feels uncertain, and what you would like resolved. Bring questions, not paperwork.

  2. Get matched to the right person

Portfolio, tax, estate, or all three at once. Ian's job is to understand your situation well enough to put you with the advisor whose work fits it.

  3. Agree on the next step

If the fit is right, Ian helps arrange an advisor meeting based on availability and explains how to prepare. If you are not ready, start with a useful resource. The introductory call does not include financial advice.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is there an account minimum?

In general, no. We do not require a minimum dollar amount to open or maintain an advisory account. We do reserve the right to close an account that falls below a size we can manage effectively, and Asset Management Services carry a minimum annual fee. Our Form CRS explains the current fee arrangement; we will discuss costs and fit before you commit.

Is the first conversation really free?

Yes. There is no charge and no obligation. If we are not the right fit, we will say so and, where we can, point you toward something better.

What should I bring?

Nothing, for the first call. It is a conversation about your situation and your questions. If you decide to meet with an advisor, the team will explain what to prepare and how to share documents securely. Please do not send statements or tax returns through our contact form.

Do I have to move my accounts to work with you?

If we work together, your assets are held at an independent custodian in an account in your name. We manage them under a written agreement and never take custody. We will walk you through what that transition involves before you decide anything.

Do you work with clients outside California and Colorado?

Our offices are in Long Beach and Fort Collins, and much of our work happens by phone and video. We will confirm at the start of the conversation that we are able to serve clients in your state.
